For more than 35 years, our firm has maintained one of the largest workers' compensation practices in the Southeast. With more than 30 attorneys specializing in workers' compensation, we represent multiple insurers, self-insureds and servicing agents in the defense of workers' compensation claims.
We have a long-standing reputation for providing the highest quality and most effective representation in workers' compensation defense cases. Two partners, James B. Hiers, Jr., and Robert R. Potter authored the definitive treatise on workers' compensation law, Georgia Workers' Compensation Law and Practice, now in its fifth edition. Our team of attorneys represents clients in every corner of Georgia and appears regularly before each of the states' 25 Administrative Law Judges and the State Board of Workers' Compensation.
Members of our Workers' Compensation practice group contribute to the legislative process each year, both by serving on committees appointed by the State Board of Workers' Compensation and as lobbyists for clients at the state legislature. Several of our attorneys are also active members of the Georgia Self Insurers Association, and participate in its semi-annual seminars given in the spring and fall. Our firm is also a longstanding member of the Atlanta Claims Association.
Experts in their field, many of our attorneys specializing in workers' compensation defense have served as chairpersons for workers' compensation seminars given around the state, which include: seminars on behalf of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, seminars sponsored by the State Board of Workers' Compensation and the Annual Workers' Compensation Seminar organized through this section of the Georgia State Bar and presented by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education in Georgia.
